Sazanami - ripples in Japanese - is a comfortable, wide boat-neck pullover with ripple pattern on the body. It is worked from the top down seamlessly. The front and back are first worked in the round to the shoulder point, then back and forth separately to the underarm, where they are joined again. The lower body is knitted in one piece in the round and gently tapered toward the hem. Sleeves stitches are picked up around the arm openings and worked down straight in the round, and the cuffs are puffed with decreases. Finally, stitches are picked up for neckband, which also evocates ripples. All edgings are finished neatly with I-cord.

3 mm / US 2½ circular needle; 40-60 cm / 16-24” (for neckband)

Adjust needle size if necessary to obtain the correct gauge.
