Sauterelle
Sauterelle, or grasshopper, is a simple triangular shawl worked from the top down in 2 original stitch patterns. The shawl pattern takes its name after the color of the yarn I used for the sample, grasshopper, which reminds me of the feeling of endless summer I had as a child.
The shawl has its portions separated by a simple braid technique, easily worked and learned. A moderate ruffle finishes the ‘little house in the prairie’ look of the shawl. This shawl is designed to make the most of a single 100gr skein of fingering weight yarn, but can be easily adapted to any size by increasing or decreasing the number of repeats of the body of the shawl.
This shawl is part of my new ‘It’s so FLUFFY!’ collection of 6 small shawls adorned with ruffles. If you purchase the collection, you will also be provided with the individual pattern.
