DESCRIPTION
Sassafras Pullover is a worsted weight turtleneck sweater with a wide split hem. My intention for this design was to create an everyday sweater for winter that is perfectly warm, cozy & cute! This pattern is gender inclusive with two fit types and also includes optional bust darts. It has hybrid drop shoulder/set-in sleeve construction, so that it can be slightly oversized while still having an excellent fit. It’s worked top down, so it’s easy to modify the body and sleeves to your ideal length.

SIZING
Fit I is graded based on a traditional women’s sizing chart and Fit II is graded based on a traditional men’s sizing chart. Both fit types are graded to 10 sizes, designed to fit bodies with bust/chest measurements between 30-66” (75-165 cm).

All sizes include an additional 8” (20 cm) of ease in the finished garment.

See the Pattern Details PDFs linked above to see a full schematic.

SAMPLE
Photos show Fit I Size B worn with 8.5” / 21.5 cm of positive ease at the bust on a body with a height of 5’2” / 157 cm. The sample does not include the optional bust darts.

TESTERS
Check out the Tester Showcase to view the projects from all my wonderful test knitters! This can be a great way to get color & yarn inspiration, as well as a chance to see the fit of this garment on a wide range of different bodies.

YARN
Knitting for Olive Heavy Merino (worsted weight; 100% Merino; 137 yds / 125 m per 50 g). Sample is shown in Pea Shoots.

This pattern can be worked in any worsted weight yarn. It can also be worked in a sport/DK weight yarn held together with a strand of lace weight mohair (you will need the yardage listed below in BOTH yarns if you are holding two yarns together). Be sure to swatch in your chosen yarn(s) to ensure you achieve the intended gauge and like the resulting fabric.

See the Pattern Details PDFs linked above for detailed yardage requirements.
