NOTES
Sari Sweater is knit seamlessly from the top down. The back neck stitches are cast on first and increases are made for the shoulders and simultaneously short row shaping drops and curves the back neck. The neckline and sleeve caps are knit “contiguously” from the top down using a method adapted from Susie Myers (“SusieM” on Ravelry). After the neckline is joined, the sweater is knit in the round down to the hem.
Sleeve stitches are held on waste yarn and slipped to a needle after the body is completed, and knit top-down and in the round, with stranded colorwork patterning on some rounds, and playful striping on others. All shaping happens within the striping. The sweater is finished with a complementary rib pattern, and with corrugated rib neckline and sleeve hems. To create the flattering silhouette, this design includes additional shaping around the curve of the shoulder, as well as waist and hip shaping along princess lines designed to follow the wearer’s curves. Please spend some time looking over the schematic to help you choose your size and decide on any modifications to the waist or hip shaping. Some positive ease is recommended for an flattering and body skimming fit.
