This pattern is exclusive to A Good Yarn Sarasota until November 24th 2017 in honor of their 8th Anniversary!

Sarasota is a quirky, geometric crescent shawl that uses simple stripes and some funky texture stitches to create lines and color blending throughout the body of the shawl into the gorgeous eyelet border.


Size: 74 in/190 cm along the top edge from tip to tip X 17 in/43 cm along the center point at the widest part of the shawl. Shawl size may vary, depending on individual knitter’s gauge, yarns used, and blocking preferences.


Recommended yarn: Two colors of semi-solid/tonal/lightly variegated/speckled fingering weight yarn

* Version 1: Lorna’s Laces Shepherd Sock Solid (80% Wool/20% Nylon; 435 yd / 398 m) in the color way “Bigger on the Inside” (A – solid navy) and Lorna’s Laces Shepherd Sock Mulit (80% Wool/20% Nylon; 435 yd / 398 m) in the color way “Singapore” (B – speckled pink)

  • Version 2: Malabrigo Yarn Sock (100% Merino; 440 yd / 402 m) in the color ways “Marte” (A – Red) and “Persia” (B- Blue)

Yardage:

  • Color A: 400-420 yd/ 365-383 m
  • Color B: 400-420 yd/ 365-383 m

Needles: One set of US size 5/ 3.75 mm circular needles in a 32 in/80 cm length


Gauge: 6 sts to the inch/cm in Garter stitch on a US size 5/3.75 mm needle.


Notions: Stitch markers, scissors and a tapestry needle.
