Black and white colourwork pattern from Sanquhar, Dumfriesshire, Scotland.

Yarn used takes 12g snow white and 12g black. You will also need a piece of black fabric measuring 63cm (25”) x 33 (13”) - the width plus 2 seam allowances x twice the length plus 2 seam allowances of the cushion pad.

Pair of 2mm (UK 14) needles.
This pattern is adaptable to your own needs. Instructions and materials are modelled on a 12 inch cushion using 9 sample blocks although all 16 traditional patterns are given in this pattern – the choice is yours. Yarn amounts given are based on average requirements and are approximate.
