Sanctacaris
by Mary Hough
This is a lace sock knit from the toe up, with a slip stitch heel flap. There are 2 sizes, Small (60 stitch leg) and Medium (64 stitch leg). There is an option for doing the toe in an eye of partridge stitch. - Note - this pattern is VERY stretchy.
Sanctacaris is a Middle Cambrian arthropod from the Burgess Shale of British Columbia. It was most famously regarded as a primitive chelicerate, a group which includes spiders and scorpions.
