Salt Water Scarf
The textured nature of the Salt Water Scarf is reminiscent of the fisherman’s sweaters popular in the Channel Islands. The pattern uses motifs commonly used in those sweaters and is created with just knit and purl stitches. A 3-stitch Garter edging is worked at each edge and the first stitch of each row is slipped purlwise to produce a neat, rope-like finished edge.
It’s a great choice to practice reading simple knit-and-purl charts.
