Salt is the perfect blanket cardigan for when the days start getting cold. Inspired by the angles and fractal nature of Fleur de Sel as well as the colours of Himalayan salt, it’s a real treat. Salt, much like it’s namesake can be added to anything and add a clean sharp note. This long cardi is just what you’re looking for to work with just about anything you’ve got in your closet.

Knit from a fingering weight, Salt is the perfect flowing cardigan to throw on on a crisp Autumn morning. Using a gradient of colours this cardi naturally matches just about anything. Knit in one piece this is the perfect way to display some beautiful yarn.

The sleeves, knit using short rows create a very unique angular effect up the arm in a very slimming fashion. The length of the cardigan can be changed very simply depending on how long you want the finished item to be either in the length of the body or in the length of the front panels. This sweater is very customizable and can be knit with as much ease as you like.

Yardage:
2 skeins of the lightest colour, 1 skein of all of the others. (6 skeins total, approx. 2400 yards)

Showtime, Lemonade, Please Me, Pinker Bell, Lullaby, Merino Singles, Uschitita, 100% Merino (400 yards, 100grams)

When choosing yarn for Salt I would recommend picking colours from a single wedge of the colour wheel, within a similar family. I would also recommend having the lightest colour as the main colour as it draw attention to your face. You will need 2 skeins of the first colour but any following colour you can use as much or as little as you want.

Tools:
3,5mm circular needles or size to obtain gauge, he entire sweater is knit flat in one piece, so you can use whatever length cable makes you comfortable, I used 40”/100cm.
stitch markers
tapestry needle
crochet hook (for provisional cast on)
