Sagrada Familia Cardigan
by Cirilia Rose
Antoni Gaudi’s Sagrada Familia basilica in Barcelona is a stunning homage to a more-is-more design mentality. Ornate textures and soaring spires are easily translated to a knitted fabric full of cables, bobbles and ladders of openwork. Robust, expressive 2-ply wool lends itself beautifully to the over the top texture. The body and yoke are worked with minimal seams, which puts all the focus on working the entertaining stitch pattern pastiche.
Cardigan shown measures 36” but the Open Column stitch pattern used for bodice would accommodate a range of bust sizes. Choose a size that is closest to your actual bust measurement or slightly smaller as sweater is meant to fit with little to no ease.
