The hat is knit predominantly in standard, Fair Isle-style stranded stockinette stitch. But, I’ve added purl stitches in a few places to provide some textural interest. The textured stitches on the earflaps help to keep the earflaps nice and flat. But, all of the textured / purl stitches are really optional - you can do the entire hat in stranded stockinette stitch, if you’d like.
