The hat started flat using a special method described in the instructions and then joined in the round and knit from the top down to the brim.

I was inspired by the Fibonacci sequence to when designing the Saffron Baby Hat. The Fibonacci sequence is the numerical sequence 1, 1, 2, 3, 5, 8, 13, 21, 34, 55, 89, 144, 233 and so on with the next number created by adding the two previous numbers in the sequence. The sequence is somewhat of a mystery in the natural world, popping up in the delicate swirl of sea shells, and in the placement of sunflower seeds in bloom.
