Safe as Houses
Knit a cosy home for your iPad or tablet, with a scalloped roof and 2-colour brick stitch pattern. This is a simple slip cover for your tablet; you can make yours extra secure by adding snap fasteners under the roof flap to keep it closed. This pattern also incorporates scallop stitch, Kitchener stitch grafting, and picking up and knitting along an edge.
Designed by Amanda Berry @fluffandfuzz, the cover is knit in acrylic DK yarns on single pointed needles (not in the round).
NEEDLES:
A pair of 4mm single pointed knitting needles (US 6).
RECOMMENDED YARN:
Yarnsmiths Create DK; double knitting/light worsted weight; 100% acrylic; One 100g/290m skein in each colour.
NOTIONS:
Tapestry needle and a button for the door handle,
SIZES:
One size only - The case is 21cm wide x 26cm tall (designed to fit an 11 inch iPad/tablet, which generally have measurements of height 25cm x width 18cm).
TECHNIQUES:
For confident beginners and above, other techniques used include casting on and off, knits, purls, decreases, and seaming to finish.
