Safaia
Add a beautiful touch to your outfit with this intricate-looking, shimmering lace shawl worked from the top down.
Safaia was first published in The Knitter issue 156.
This pattern has two separate versions - the original version which was published in The Knitter and a version knitted in slightly thinner yarn. After purchase you will be able to download both versions (each version has a separate pdf).
Version 1:
Sweet Georgia CashLuxe Spark (4ply; 80% superwash merino/10% cashmere/10% silver stellina; 365m/400yds per 115g skein) x 1 skein. Shown in shade: Sapphire
4.5mm (UK 7/US 7) knitting needles (80cm/32in circular needles recommended)
Size:
Wingspan: 140cm/56in
Depth: 53cm/21¼in
Tension:
14.5 sts and 21 rows over 10cm/4in in Chart D after blocking.
Exact tension is not essential but a difference in tension may affect the final size and amount of yarn used.
Version 2:
Manos Del Uruguay Fino (4ply; 70% merino wool/30% silk; 450m/490yds per 100g skein) x 1 skein. Shown in 413 Rosewater
4mm (UK8/US 6) knitting needles (80cm/32in circular needles recommended)
Size:
Wingspan: 142cm/56¾in
Depth: 58cm/23¼in
Tension:
18 sts and 25 rows over 10cm/4in in Chart D after blocking.
Exact tension is not essential but a difference in tension may affect the final size and amount of yarn used.
