Sacred Spirit is an exclusive pattern to the Spirit Collection, a collection of five patterns - three available as individual patterns and two as strictly exclusive ones.

This is a gently triangular shawl with an ‘Art Deco’ inspired lace border. It would be the height of elegance for a formal occasion providing glamour, sparkle and decadence and yet if it were knit in a softer yarn could be a very wearable scarf/accessory for every day wear. It is most definitely a shawl that has a dramatic appearance belying it’s simplicity. The central lace panel leads to a flourish of lace in the heavily beaded border – drama and elegant style emerges from the flouncy edge during blocking.

Knit, from the top down, in either fingering weight or lace (either 600m/100g or 800m/100g), this shawl can be easily made to any size with a pattern repeat of only 16 rows. The pale shawl shown used 500m of Lichtfaden Pure Silk Fingering (500m/125g) and about 750 size 5/0 Miyuki Triangle Beads. It measures 68” (173cm) wide and 26.5” (67cm) deep after six repeats and lace border but I tend to knit a little loosely and do block like a thug!

This is wonderfully quick, deceptively easy yet intricate and stylish looking shawl.
