Sabal
The striking lace motif, highlighted in the corner of this shawl, reminded me of the crown of a palm tree. So, I named this shawl Sabal. Short rows on the shorter side of the triangle slowly build the lace up to the flowers by the time they reach the palm motif.
My friend, Lynne Sosnowski, and I enjoy friendly design challenges. We take a theme and each go in our own direction. For this design challenge, we agreed to design a striped garter triangle shawl with a lace edging. I designed this shawl and Lynne designed Payoff.
