The pattern I picked for this garment is from the book Ornaments and Patterns found in Iceland. It contains a collection of traditional textile patterns from Icelandic manuscripts from as early as 1700.

I’m not sure what the yarn weight is for 1ply Plötulopi but gauge-1 ply: 19 sts to 10 cm (4”) over stoockinette stitch using size 4½ mm (Old UK 7) (US 7).

I recycled this pattern into a modern usage in this knitted garment.
