Crochet Iconic Women: Amigurumi patterns for 15 women who changed the world

Ruth Bader Ginsburg
Why Ruth? Because she was the first to question the legislation discriminating on the basis of sex after constantly suffering unfair treatment for being a woman. At Harvard University, she was one of eight women studying law in a class of more than 500, with the Dean always reminder her that she was occupying the place of a qualified man. She later transferred to Columbia University and graduated first in her class. But despite her outstanding academic record, no one would give her a job as a lawyer. This was the spark that ignited her life’s word: gender-blind laws granting equal rights. She argued six landmark cases on gender equality before the U.S. Supreme Court, winning five.
A hard-working woman in her mid-80s, and now herself a member of the Supreme Court of the United States, Ruth still fights for gender equality, civil rights and the fair treatment of women.
