I designed the Ruska Sweater (the more rusty red version) with a competition in mind. The Finnish yarn brand Novita was looking for designs to celebrate 50 years of their most popular yarn, Seitsemän Veljestä.

I chose to go with a classic design that is unisex and timeless, maybe a bit traditional too. It definitely pays homage to all those yoke sweaters that came before!

This sweater is meant to be worn either fit to size or with 3-5 cm positive ease. Choose a size with approx. 1.25’’ / 3-5 cm positive ease at bust circumference.

GAUGE
19 sts x 30 rnds = 4x4’’ / 10x10 cm in stockinette stitch, worked in the round on smaller needles (after blocking).

20 sts x 26 rnds = 4x4’’ / 10x10 cm in stranded knitting (colorwork, worked in the round on larger needles (after blocking).
