Rose Windows
Inspired by Nesnems desire for a rectangular shawl. I would like to thank her and also Kim for working through this pattern in its rough stage.
Although this is listed as lace weight, you could also use fingering weight yarn. Look in the projects to see examples. I have given instructions to change the width/length, so there should be no problem in adapting to suit your preferences.
Please note: that the ch8 at the beginning of a row counts as the first dc & ch5 of the first V-st. This note is included the V2 version of the pattern (and that is the only change from the original). Thanks for the suggestion, I-hook!
I have just added Nesnems’ joining instructions to make this pattern into a cowl or infinity scarf. It is in a separate file that comes along with the pattern. Thank you so much Nesnems!
And here is a blocking tip from mjotread which is very helpful. “ I originally blocked 11 in. by 86 in. doing most of the pulling lengthwise. Then I noticed the roses show up better if the pattern is fully blocked across the width so I reblocked, re-steamed to 13 in wide and it did NOT lose any length.”
