Size 5/3.75 mm dpns and 24” circular. (Also Double Points in #2 or #3 for picking up edge stitches.)

The back of the shawl is a diamond (and is worked first, beginning at the base of the “V” … see the diagram), worked in Rose Lace diamonds. The sides are rectangles in several other lace patterns. The result is an unusual shape with a stole effect in the front.

The edging is worked sideways as the bind off.

(A smaller shawl may be made b increasing to 6 Rose Lace Diamonds, then decreasing to 2 Rose Lace Diamonds at the neck The sides and border are worked the same as the larger shawl. Photos added.)
