Rose Gold Hoodie
The yardage above is what is required for Japon. Refer to the pattern for the yardage for Deluxe 5.
Two yarns are held together for this hoodie. Both are from the Japanese company Mondo Fil. Japon is a blend of rayon and Japanese paper. Mondo Deluxe 5 is a sparkly blend of rayon and acrylic. I first came across these yarns at our conference several years ago. I don’t normally care for sparkly yarns but the Mondo Deluxe 5 is a very subtle and sophisticated yarn. When held together with Japon it creates a lovely marled fabric.
The hoodie features vents at the sides, which emphasize the difference in the lengths of the front and back, and an A-line shape shows off the beautiful drape of fabric produced by these yarns. The back and front are worked bottom up. After the shoulders are seamed, stitches for the hood are picked up. Increases are made in the first few rows of the hood to add to its fullness. This ensures that it drapes loosely across the shoulders when not worn. The sleeves, worked from shoulder to cuff using a short row technique, are added last.
