An easy hat for beginners to learn how to knit in the round.

Use the Cable Cast-On, putting on a multiple of 8, for your number of stitches. Remember that the first 2 stitches of cable cast-on aren’t so pretty, so cast on 2 extra stitches and take away the first 2 (if you did them correctly, they’ll pull right out!) For an adult hat, you’ll need 88, 96 or 104 stitches, depending on the way you knit.

Materials:

  • Size 6, 16” circular needle
  • 5 size 6, double-pointed needles (DPNs)
  • A sharp and a dull tapestry needle
