“The original was made of a mercerized crochet thread in cream and rose; about 200 yards of cream or main color is needed and 5 yards of contrast. Use a size 10 crochet hook. The doily can be made of a finer or coarser thread if desired, with a hook of a size that will work well with the thread you are using.”
