Take a stunning textured hand-dyed yarn, the simplest of stitches, some artfully placed increases and short rows, and in no time you’ll have a fabulous bolero, perfect over a basic black Melbourne-style polo neck or a summer tank top.

The bolero is cast on at the back neck, then knitted down to the bottom of the armholes. Extra stitches are cast on for the side and front armhole, and the rest of the garment is knitted out to the front and bottom edge. After seaming the shoulders, an i-cord cast-off is added, then cap sleeves are picked up around the armhole and knitted out.
