Size 0 (2.0 mm): double point needles (dpn) Or other needles preferred for small circumference knitting.

Gauge
36 sts & 40 rows = 4” (10 cm) in charted stockinette colorwork.
Adjust needle size if necessary to obtain gauge.

Notes

• These mittens are worked from the cuff up, incorporating a traditional thumb gusset. The hand is finished after separating the thumb stitches. Thumb stitches are then put back on the needles and worked to completion.

• The chart is worked in Stockinette stitch throughout.

• There is a Fingerless Mitt Variation included in this pattern.

• When choosing colors it will be helpful to know that Color A is used for the cuff and Color B is used for the little dots and transition motifs. You may find it useful to choose 3 darker colors for A, C & D and then a lighter contrast color for B (or reverse that and choose 3 lighter colors and one dark). If wanting to use a highly variegated yarn for this design it would work best as Color A, for the cuffs.
