I’m thrilled to design again for the Lots of Socks KAL, which recognizes the beauty and uniqueness of individuals with Down Syndrome. For these socks, I chose some bright mini-skeins and arranged them in bold colorblocks. A main color stripe (an I-cord incorporated right into the socks) travels down the back of the leg, then splits around a Fleegle-style heel (great for high insteps!). Donations from the initial launch sales of these socks went to benefit Down Syndrome International to give children with Down Syndrome around the world a rock-solid foundation.

If you want to rock mismatched socks on Lots of Socks Day (3/21), consider reversing the color sequence on the second sock, as shown in the sample.

• XXXS: to fit 6”/15 cm foot circumference
• XXS: to fit 6.5”/17 cm foot circumference
• XS: to fit 7”/18 cm foot circumference
• S: to fit 7.5”/19 cm foot circumference
• M: to fit 8”/20 cm foot circumference
• L: to fit 8.5”/22 cm foot circumference
• XL: to fit 9”/23 cm foot circumference
• XXL: to fit 9.5”/24 cm foot circumference

Yarn (yards required for XXXS (XXS, XS, S, M, L, XL, XXL) sizes, includes 15% buffer:

• Main color (black in sample): 41 (50, 55, 60, 70, 76, 87, 93) yards
• C1, C2, C4, C5 (each) (pink, orange, green, blue in sample): 37 (43, 50, 57, 65, 74, 83, 92) yards
• C3 (yellow in sample): 43 (51, 59, 68, 77, 87, 98, 109) yards

Blocked Gauge:
35.5 sts and 48 rounds per 4”/10 cm in stockinette stitch in the round

• 3 stitch markers
• tapestry needle for weaving in ends
• scissors for trimming ends

Needles:
US 1 (2.25-mm) needles for knitting socks, or size needed to obtain gauge
