NEEDLES
US 8 / 5 mm circular needle, 24–40” / 60–100 cm for body and DPNs for sleeve (if not using the Magic Loop Technique).
US 6 / 4 mm circular needle, 16” / 40 cm for neckline ribbing, 24–40” / 60–100 cm for hem ribbing and DPNs for sleeve ribbing (if not using the Magic Loop Technique).
Or a needle size that gives you the correct gauge.
NOTIONS
Stitch markers, tapestry needle, waste yarn, cable needle.
GAUGE
15 sts × 26 rnds to 4” / 10 cm on US 8 / 5 mm, needles in Double Seed Stitch, after blocking. Chart V (30 sts × 12 rows): width 6.25” / 16 cm and height 2” / 5 cm with US 8 / 5 mm needles, after blocking.
NOTES
The sweater is worked top-down starting at the back neck. The upper back is worked flat to the the underarms. The upper front is picked up along the shoulders and worked flat with the neckline shaping down to the underarms. The pieces are then joined and the body is then worked in the round to the hem. The sleeve stitches are picked up around the armholes. Sleeves are worked in the round using either the Magic Loop technique or double-pointed needles. The neckline ribbing is worked last.
