This two-in-one pattern features welts in cables both horizontally and vertically to create two distinct patterns with their own personalities. It’s a fun way to explore how alignment creates a different look and fabric.

The first pattern, Vines, is knit in the round and features a cozy folded over brim before transitioning to alternating cables and welts. Place a pom on top for some more pizazz or let the fun texture speak for itself. Vines is at home on a snowy trail or stalking the aisle of your local grocery store.

The second pattern, Rivers, is knit flat and then grafted or seamed to make a tube. Stitches are then picked up for the crown. I finished mine with a faux fur pom, which I feel really captures Rivers’ joie-de-vie. Slightly more complicated than Vines, Rivers has a touch of femininity and elegance that is taken up a notch with a coordinated pom.
