This is a cuff down, 4ply weight sock pattern.

This sock pattern was written for double pointed needles, although it can be used to knit with small circulars and magic loop. This pattern has instructions for three sizes:

  • Small (56 sts)
  • Medium (64 sts)
  • Large (72 sts)

Instructions for this sock are in written and charted format.

I have used The Cozy Knitter sock yarn to knit this sock, but any 4ply weight, self-striping yarn can be used.

You may have to adjust your needle size to get the correct gauge.

The design for these socks was inspired by my Chevron Socks. Sometimes when I am knitting socks, I like to make an otherwise plain sock look a wee bit more dynamic, and this ripple stitch pattern is perfect for that.

This pattern works great with self-striping sock yarns as you see the ripple effect forming as you knit the stripes. Your yarn colours will be the main focus of your sock and the pattern just adds a little bit of interest whilst knitting.
