“Well-nigh to thaumic line,
The Scalvert’s Stone a-fire,
Draws the Ring of Fortune,
Aspect of heart’s desire.”

(-Legends and Lattes by Travis Baldree)

When an orc named Viv retires from her life of adventuring to open a coffee shop, she brings with her a Scalvert’s Stone- a magical object said to “draw the ring of fortune”. The Ring of Fortune sweater is something that I imagine Viv would wear, and also pays homage to the rings of fortune that surround us all.

Ring of Fortune is a loose fitting, boxy sweater with a V neck, dropped sleeves, and ring cables on the cuffs.

The pattern is cast on at the bottom and knit in the round to the underarms. From that point on the front and back are worked separately, and flat. After the necklines have been shaped the shoulder seems are grafted together, and sleeve stitches are picked up and worked in reverse stockinette in the round to the cuffs.

Why will you love Ring of Fortune? Just look at those round little cables!! Adore, adore, adore. They’ll put a smile on your face whenever you wear this sweater. But wait, there’s more! This sweater is super flattering, AND fun to knit. What could be better?
