Rift is a modern, cabled cowl knitted in the round. Rift’s deeply furrowed cable motif is inspired by the dramatic landscapes shaped by tectonic movement within the earth’s crust. This design is well suited to any solid colour of yarn, but works especially well in light colours and rich, saturated hues. It is sized to be worn wrapped twice around the neck, and is knit from the bottom-up in one piece using circular needles.

FINISHED MEASUREMENTS
Circumference: 55.75 inches / 142 cm.
Height: 8.25 inches / 21 cm.
MATERIALS
Yarn: 3 skeins of All American Worsted by Swans Island (75% Rambouillet wool, 25% alpaca, 210 yds / 192 m – 80 g), colourway Granite.
Needles: 48” (120 cm) size US 4 (3.5 mm) circular needles for tubular cast-on and 48” (120 cm) size US 5 (3.75 mm) circular needles for charted cable pattern.
Notions: Stitch markers, tapestry needle.
GAUGE
25.5 sts and 33.5 rows = 4 inches (10 cm) on US 5 (3.75 mm) needles in charted cable pattern, after blocking.
