Ribulet Socks
Don’t like doing ribbing? Neither do I. I try to minimize purling, and it turns out that you can produce kinder, gentler ribs by purling only half the rows. I call these one stitch wide columns “ribulets”.
These socks are knit from the top down with a patterned heel flap. I’ve added a few twists in some of the ribs to keep things interesting, an easy two-stitch twist without a cable needle (adapted from Broad Spiral Rib from A Treasury of Knitting Patterns by Barbara Walker).
