YARN, GAUGE AND MACHINE:
Gauge is taken across the span of needles used in 1X1 rib so even the alternate needles that are out of work are counted. 1 strand of Tamm Bebe gets a gauge of 11 stitches/9 rows per inch on the standard gauge machine at stitch size 6/6 or the Passap at stitch size 5/5. Mid-gauge machines can match the gauge at a smaller stitch size. 2 strands of Tamm Bebe run together as 1 get a gauge of 7.4 stitches/6 rows at stitch size 3/3 on the bulky or a larger stitch size on mid-gauge machines. Tamm Nordic run single stranded gets the same gauge on bulkies and may be substituted. Bonds use the bulky version and keyplate 2 and reform alternate stitches as rib. In the instructions, the stitch & row count for the single strand version will be given first followed by the double stranded version in brackets. I cone is needed. Gauge is not critical. If you can come close adjust stitch size to make a nice ribbed fabric and use the numbers in the pattern. If not, instructions for adjusting the numbers are given at the end.
