Rhombolution is a double knit scarf inspired by Islamic tiling. It features a pattern that begins with a solid colour either side of the scarf, then moves through a series of evolving rhomboid shapes from light to dark and vice versa, before doing it all again at the other end.

The centre of the scarf is unpatterned double knitting, and is therefore very easy to shorten or lengthen. The sample scarf is particularly long, as I wanted to use every bit of the lovely Kettle Yarn Co. Waltham yarn I had.

The pattern comes with ‘How to Double Knit,’ a series of photo tutorials to refresh your memory, or to learn the techniques for the first time. It includes instruction for how to cast on with the 2-colour tubular cast on, double knitting, following the chart, and the tubular bind off.
