Rhiannon
This pattern is now free as I’m unable to offer support. I hope you enjoy it.
Rhiannon is pronounced Hree-AN-on (the “RH” is rolled like in Spanish “roho” but has a great deal more of the H sound in it than just R). I was inspired by Celtic tracery, the grid work on gates & pattern of horse shoes. This is a top down triangular shawl in two sizes (the large with a lace border) which makes a cosy wrap in either fingering or heavy lace weight / 3ply. The variety of patterns create an interesting knit for the intermediate knitter.
SIZES:
medium: heavy lace / 3ply - fingering: 47” - 50’’/ 119 - 127 cm x 21’’ - 22” / 53 - 56 cm
large: heavy lace / 3ply (fingering): 56’’ / 142 cm x 26’’ / 66 cm (63’’ / 160 cm x 30’’ / 76 cm)
GAUGE: 4” / 10 cm over garter st before blocking:
heavy lace / 3ply on 3.75 mm needles 25 sts 46 rows
fingering on 4 mm needles 24 sts 46 rows
MATERIALS & TOOLS:

US # 5 / 3.75 mm (US # 6 / 4.0 mm) or size for gauge.
& US # 6 / 4.0 mm (US # 7 / 4.5 mm) or one size larger than main needle for smocked sections.

SKILL LEVEL: intermediate (3 / 5)
SKILLS NEEDED:
provisional CO, cabling, optional lace knitting.
The detailed instructions are fully written as well as charted throughout. There is a video link to show how to work the smocked stitch in the pattern. The pattern has been fully tech edited and tested.
I’d love to see your progress / finished shawl over in the suseknits group.
