Inspired by the legend of Rhea Silvia, the mother of Romulus and Remus and a minor Roman deity of the forest, this luscious infinite wrap features burl-like cables and a lace leaf border in a drapy silk-wool blend. Wear it as a shawl, a scarf, cowl, or however you want!
Pattern includes both charts and line-by-line instructions. Sample shown was knit using five skeins of Shibui Knits Staccato in “Artichoke”.
FAQS:
- Is it a cowl or shawl? Rhea Silvia is knit in the round and can be worn a number of ways - as a cowl, scarf, shawl, or hood! All the pictures shown are of a single sample.
- Why is it knit in the round? Personally, I prefer to knit it in the round - because they’re no wrong side (purl) rows. It goes a lot faster ;) I also find it’s easier to pin on and wear as a shawl - the pictures on the pattern are all of the one (infinite) sample.
- Can I knit it flat? Of course! If you’d prefer a flat rectangle, I’ve written up instructions on Ravelry, for knitters to convert the pattern to flat: http://www.ravelry.com/discuss/rose-city-knits/topics/260...
