Recalling the classically cozy comfort of some of the most iconic aran-style sweaters, you can channel the likes of Paul Newman and Marilyn Monroe with this terrific throwback. Traditional textures abound with a honeycomb cable panel flanked by simple twists and fishbone cables. Add some time-honored techniques, like saddle shoulders, and you’ve got an evocative garment that pushes all the right nostalgia buttons.

The Retro Pullover is a cabled sweater worked from the top down, with a crew neck and saddle shoulder. Saddle and yoke are worked flat, while body and sleeves are worked in the round. with 4” of positive ease.

US 5 / 3.75 mm circular needles, or size to obtain gauge
US 4 / 3.5 mm circular needles for ribbing, or one size smaller than size to obtain gauge

32 sts and 32 rows = 4” over Cable Pattern, blocked
24 sts and 32 rows = 4” in Moss stitch, blocked
