Ressac, in French, is the movement of the waves when they come to an obstacle.

I have designed this pattern thinking about the back and forth movement of the waves in the sea. The reverse stockinette stitch lines are going progressively away from the cast on row, but at the end, the sea come to an obstacle and forms little waves and ripples.

This shawl is very simple and very pleasant at the same time.

It is available in 2 versions : small and bicolour, or big and in one colour. But it is not forbidden to make it small in one colour or big and bicolour…

Materials:

• for the small bicolour shawl, you will need 250 meters / 275 yards of fingering yarn for main colour and 200 meters / 220 yards for contrasting colour,
• for the big unicolour shawl, you will need 800 meters / 880 yards of fingering yarn.

Ressac: Aller et retour violent des vagues sur elles-mêmes, lorsqu’elles se brisent sur un obstacle (définition du CNRTL).

J’ai créé ce modèle en pensant au mouvement de va et vient des vagues dans la mer. Les lignes de jersey envers s’éloignent peu à peu du rang de montage, mais à la fin la mer rencontre un obstacle et forme une myriade de vaguelettes.

Ce châle est très simple et en même temps très plaisant à réaliser.

Il existe en 2 versions : petit et bicolore, ou grand et uni. Mais rien ne vous empêche de le faire petit et uni ou grand et bicolore…

Matériel nécessaire :

• pour la version petit châle bicolore, il vous faut 250 mètres de fil fingering en couleur principale et 200 mètres en couleur contrastante,
• pour la version grand châle uni, il vous faut 800 mètres de fil fingering.
