Reshmi
Reshmi - Silky / silken in Hindi.
This is a top down crescent shaped wrap. The body is mostly garter stitch with some short row shaping and contrast colour #1 used with slipped stitches for effect. The lace border is worked with contrast colour #1 followed by a picot edge bind off with contrast colour #2.
Finished Measurements: Length between tips: 48” (122cm), depth: 16” (40cm).
Yarn: 250yds (228m) of MC, 200yds (182m) of CC1 and 50yds (46m) of CC2 in DK weight.
Sample shown uses Sunrays Creations’ Vilasa DK (250y/ 229m, 100% silk, 100g) with yardage of MC: 235 yds (215m), CC1: 180yds (165m) and CC2: 30yds (28m).
Needles: US size 9 (5.5mm) needles.
Gauge: 14 sts and 32 rows = 4” (10cm) in garter st after blocking.
12 sts and 20 rows = 3.25” (8.25cm) for lace motif after blocking.
Difficulty: Intermediate. Lace, garter slip stitches, short rows, picot bind off.
