Renaissance Sweater
Renaissance Sweater is a warm but sleek sweater for the winter, with vertical ribbing stripes providing a slimming profile. The puff sleeves add a vintage look, and the picot edgings on the sleeves and keyhole neckline bring a touch of romance without excess flounces.
The sweater is worked from the bottom up. Directions are given for working flat, or for working body and sleeves in the round up to the armholes, and flat thereafter. Some sets of instructions pertain to both construction methods, while others apply only to one or the other. All instructions are clearly marked as to which method they apply. The picot hem of the sleeves is achieved during casting-on, while the neckline edging is worked after constructing the body. Instructions are provided for working the neckline edging by both crochet and knit methods.
