Knitted from the top down requires stitches to be increased as the yoke is shaped. My favorite type of increase is the lifted increase, and this pattern has a plethora of these—in the raglan shaping, at the beginning of the cable panel, and in the waist shaping. I personally find them fun and easy to make, and the result is aesthetically pleasing.

If you have a favorite method of increasing, this pattern can easily be made using a variety of increases. See page 136 for more information on different types of increases and pick any of them to use in this sweater! The only thing I wouldn’t suggest is an increase with yos in the cable panel.

This design could also benefit from a pouch pocket (described on page 80), or if you’re well endowed, consider adding some bust darts following the instructions on page 112.
