Reindeer Candy Cane Holder
by Frog hooker
I used to make these Reindeer Candy Cane Holders out of paper and pompoms when I was a kid. I thought a crochet version might be pretty cool.
They work up super quick, and use hardly any yarn.
This pattern is written using US terminology.
MATERIALS
- Worsted weight yarn (medium 4) - I used 7g (.25 oz) of Loops & Threads, Impeccable in Chocolate for the darker reindeer, and Loops & Threads, Impeccable in Soft Taupe for the lighter guy
- 1 g (.04 oz) of Patons, Canadiana in Cardinal for the nose
- Less than .5 g (.02 oz) of Red Heart, Super Saver in Black for the pupils
- 2 g (.07 oz) of Loops & Threads, Impeccable in Aran for the eyes
- 4mm hook
- Fiberfill, for stuffing his nose
- Doll making needle (or whatever needle you like to sew your pieces together extra firm.
GAUGE
Gauge is not important for this pattern. Just make sure it fits around your candy canes, and that your stitches are tight enough that the stuffing doesn’t show through on his nose.
