Reggie
I’m so excited to introduce you to Reggie; a top-down, compound raglan sweater that I designed with the cooler months in mind. When my friend Ruth from Raincloud & Sage proposed a collaboration with her new base, Nord, I jumped at the chance!
Nord is a beautiful, minimally processed yarn, in the most beautiful colours, and I knew it was this I wanted to showcase by creating a sweater with a simple yet striking colourwork motif. Using only two colours, it’s a great introduction to stranded colourwork if you have never tried it before.
As for the silhouette, for that, you can credit my love of old movies! I’d been watching Audrey Hepburn character, Reggie, running around the streets of Paris in the classic thriller Charade, clad head-to-toe in Givenchy haute couture. I love the clean lines of the funnel neck paired with a boxy body and tapered sleeves and wanted to try it here for a vintage/modern aesthetic. Funnel necks not your thing? Don’t worry, there are also instructions to knit Reggie as a crew neck.
One of my personal favourite aspects of this pattern though is actually, part of the pattern itself! While I love the fit compound raglan shaping gives, it can be a little confusing when you read the instructions, so to make it simpler I’ve created a cheat-sheet for every size that shows row-by-row when the increases are made. All you need to do is print it out and mark off the rows as you go. Simple!

NOTE: Depending on your gauge, you may need to go up a needle size for the colourwork sections.
