Because of the drop-stitches making up the bulk of this little cardie, it doesn’t use much yarn - only 3 balls of Rowan cotton rope but since that’s discontinued you could use any aran weight cotton yarn.

This pattern is currently being test-knitted (Apr 2011), so forgive me any mistakes (I dont think there are any but you never know), and don’t laugh at my diagram! :)
