Reeds
I started to make a poncho with a vertical Dropped Cable stitch pattern. I seamed it, then I tried it on… and I was surprised that it was an uncomfortable fit. The vertical cables were right next to my arm and did not have any stretch! So I put it into a time-out.
A month later, I unseamed the shoulder, and it was back to the simple rectangle. I put it on my shoulders, and I love to wear it as a shawl!
Surprising things happen during the design process. Sometimes (maybe most of the time), the first idea does not turn out to be what I was looking for. Thinking and thinking… then another idea comes out, and it works well
