Redford Cowl
A lovely spike stitch pattern in three colours adorns this cowl. The crunchy texture and ever-changing colour sequences give lots of visual interest and make the pattern fun to work.
This cowl comes in one size, and will fit most adults. it is easy to make the cowl shorter or deeper if you prefer, by working fewer or more rows.
The pattern is much easier to work than it looks! (it’s mostly single crochet (UK: double crochet) stitches.
There aren’t loads of ends to work in once you’ve finished because the non-working yarns are just carried up the side of the work until they are needed again.
This is a good stash-busting project too: You’ll need about 3 balls of DK weight yarn, plus a little bit extra in another colour for the edging. The exact amounts of yarn are:
131 yds/120 m DK weight yarn in each of 3 colours: A, B and C; 25 yds/23 m DK weight yarn in colour D for edging.
The finished cowl has a circumference of approximately 20½ in/52 cm and is approximately 11½ in/29 cm deep.
The instructions are fully written out and there is a chart too.
You’ll find hints and tips along the way, and I always answer requests for help with my paid-for patterns, so that you can buy with confidence.
