Red Orchid
A shimmering mulberry silk yarn from independent hand dyer Skein Queen makes this shawl feel very special indeed. It is shaped to sit neatly around your shoulders, with a triangular ‘teardrop’ shape and a central spine. The lace pattern is reminiscent of the blooms of exotic orchids and forms a scalloped lower edge.
Materials:
1 skein Skein Queen Luminosity (4ply weight, 100% mulberry silk, 400m/437yds per 100gr skein. Colour: Electric Crimson
3.75mm (UK9/US5) circular needles (80cm long)
Tension:
17 sts and 29 rows in Chart 1A to measure 10x10cm/4x4in after blocking.
