Latvian Braids and stranded colorwork meet in this design with a slip stitch heel - with 3 different sizes (56, 64, 72 sts) you can adjust it to almost every foot. Also you may work fraternal socks (I love those) as a very fun way to combine colors.

The stranded colorwork is only placed on leg and foot, so you do not have problems wit a tight work - you may want to go up a needle size for this oart.

You will need about 360 m / 400 yards of sock yarn in two contrasting colors. For fraternal sock the amout of each color is the same (about 180 m / 200 yards each), if you want to work a pair that is similar in color choices, you will need approximately 240 m / 260 yards of your main color and 120 m / 140 yards of your contrast color.

Lettische Zöpfe und zweifarbiges Stricken geben diesen Socken ein tolles Aussehen, dazu kommt eine Fersenwand mit Hebemaschen. In drei verschiedenen Größen (56, 64, 72 Maschen) kannst Du sie an fast alle Füße anpassen! Außerdem kannst Du für den zweiten Socken die Farben vertauschen (fraternale Socken), das macht so viel Spaß und gibt zwei Socken, die zwar zusammen gehören, aber trotzdem verschieden sind.

Der zweifarbige Teil ist auf das Bein und ein kurzes Stück auf dem Fuss begrenzt, so daß Du weniger Probleme hast, wenn Du sehr fest strickst. Außerdem kannst Du für diesen Teil eine Nadelgröße stärker wählen.

Du benötigst etwa 360 m Sockengarn in zwei kontrastierenden Farben. Für ein gleichfarbiges Paar etwa 240 m der Haupt- und 120 m der Kontrastfarbe, für ein fraternales Paar gleich viel von beiden Garnen (etwa 180 m).
