“THE ISLE of Skye and the surrounding areas in Scotland provide magical scenery and wonderful colours - so inspiring,” says designer Juliet Bernard. “I particularly love the way fern leaves unfurl in the late spring, and each leaf is slightly different. For my hat with stranded colourwork fern motifs, I have used a yarn from Shilasdair, an independent yarn dyer based on Skye which uses natural dyes.”
